Shouldn't matter, the kms drivers won't create an fbdev if nomodeset is specified so we never get to this point I've sent v2 which is probably ready for inclusion, not sure what the path upstream is, After its merged you can add an efifb fb_destroy function, and the powerpc people can add offb support. It uses new aperture_base/size members instead of comparing on the fix smem_start/length, as smem_start/length might for example only cover the first 1MB of the PCI aperture, and we could allocate the kms fb from 8MB into the aperture, thus they would never overlap. v2: add an fb_destroy callback so the firmware fb can cleanup after itself. vesafb will now remove the region it reserves and destroy its fb info. The panel mode I suppose is LVDS (LCD panel directly connected to the chip) which is possible only in laptops and tablets or other computers where the LCD panel is integrated with the main unit (e.g. "desk-lamp" like Apple computers). All other computers which you connect the display by external cable (DVI/HDMI or VGA) does not work in the "panel mode". From: Jouni Hogander <jou...@no...> Leaving interface clocks enabled causes dss pwrdm to stay in active state when mpu is in active state. This fix puts dss to sleep state when it is not needed. Earlier version broke framebuffer on 24xx. This is fixed by enabling clocks before trying to access DISPC_IRQSTATUS register.
