Oddly this is the second DECnet oops I've had reported in the last week.
I've been running DECnet on 2.6 for ages not (currently 2.6.6) and found it to
be very solid reliable.
What is not reliable in 2.6 is the compilers that it likes. For instance I have
enormous trouble getting my SCSI driver to work and have to compile bits of the
kernel with 2.95 and bits with 3.2! (yes, really. And I know you're not supposed
to do that).
So I suppose the thing to try first is to vary the compiler used to build the
kernel. 2.95 seems to be the most reliable I have found. various 3.x ones all
seem to cause different problems IME.
