Hi, You shouldn't have to set it. It will use the smaller of the allowable sizes negotiated in the connection start up and the connection start up messages are small enough that its never a problem for them. You can however use iproute2 to restrict the buffer size on a per route basis, or just set the MTU of the device to something smaller. Bear in mind that its not a good idea to make adjustments when connections are in progress :-) Its a new feature in 2.5 that DECnet makes use of the MTU as it ought to, so this isn't working in 2.4 yet (neither I suspect will the use of iproute2 for setting the mss), Steve. > > This is a multi-part message in MIME format. > > ------=_NextPart_000_001F_01C32451.E7D89E70 > Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > Content-Type: text/plain; > charset="iso-8859-1" > > We still have an LSI-11 in our DECnet, so we have to SET EXECUTOR BUFFER = > SIZE 576 (the maximum DECnet buffer size on RSX-11M-Plus) on our OpenVMS = > systems.
