Bingo! The system has two interfaces and, surprise surprise, the one
that is actually used has it set to false. The other one that isn't
actually being used for anything is set to true. I'm guessing that this
is because it is the first interface, and therefore was simply set to
true by default.
Since all nodes on our network apparently speak Phase V, this hasn't
been an issue up until now.
The doc says "only one circuit may have this attribute set to true". Do
you know if setting the other circuit to true will automatically set the
first one to false, or if I need to tell my sys admin to set the first
one to false beforehand?
In any event, I guess I just need to ask my sys admin to issue these ncl
commands:
set routing circuit csmacd-0 enable phaseiv address false
set routing circuit csmacd-1 enable phaseiv address true
Can someone verify this for me, please? Can this be done on a "live"
system without taking down any services first?
Thanks,
Ben
