Can I second this request? I'm reasonably knowledgeable about VMS, DECnet and Linux, but I go for months (sometimes years) without using DECNet under Linux, then when I need to use it I've forgotton how everything works... Also, the kernel code and dnprogs have changed quite a bit over the last couple of years and it would be useful to know what works with what. Personally I don't see the distro dependent stuff as all that important - after all, RH people don't *have* to start daemons in the RH manner (for example), they can just stick a line in rc.local or whatever. It's more a question of setting the MAC address, setting up the config files, kernel dependent issues etc. Most of this info is around *somewhere* but it's often not obvious where. A short(ish) cribsheet would be really useful, or even a list of documentation links with a description of what each covers. You could send it to everybody on the list every 6 months...
