I suppose the other thing it would allow you to do would be to tunnel DECnet over the internet - using SSH for security I suspectd that might make quite a good wide-area DECnet network. Incidentally I tried setting up SLIP in CHARON-VAX on Friday but the VMS TCP/IP stack doesn't want to start without an ethernet card :( patrick |
