I've been working with DECnet Phase V ( also known as DECnet/OSI, and currently called DECnet Plus ... next rename scheduled for 2001 ... ;-) ) since 1991, and once you get used to the new syntax of NCL, you find you can't live without the superior control and level of information you are provided with over the old DECnetIV NCP commands. Amongst other things, it also fully supports dual-homed systems, and you get up to 65535 areas (unless you need to talk to DECnetIV systems, in which case you are stuck with the old 63 areas) ... Go with DECnet Plus if you don't have any reason forcing you to stay with DECnetIV ... Rob. |
