Hello All, and thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately, neither $ SET TERMINAL/VT100 nor $ SET TERMINAL/INQUIRE seems to make a difference. I forgot to test these setttings on the microvax machine which gives me strange output even under plain vms. I'll try and tell you about it. I am using xterm, and found a place where I could steal the key mappings from. The funny thing is that the editor seems to work well. By the way, is there a possibility to restrict the new keymapping to my dnsprogs sessions, because they are not very good for use in linux!? I am not sure wether the broken output is due to the program not knowing what kind of emulation to send or because xterm doesn`t understand. I doubt the latter, so the problem might be to tell the program what to send. concerning the putty suggestion: Can I use putty over a serial line? I thought I'd have to have a tcpip connection for that. Greetings, Til Unterwegs über Ihre E-Mails informiert mit der kostenlosen SMS-Benachrichtigung von o2!
