Hello,

I am currently having a problem with the AtmSocket
class. This problem boils down to the fact that the
AtmSocket does not inform me that it has lost its
connection. Instead of the having to 'effectively'
constantly poll the AtmSocket itself to see if it is still
functional. In an ideal world I would like to receive a
message from the socket itself through the usual receive
means telling me of its disconnection. In the drivers for
the rs232 ports on linux there are 'serialEvents' that you
can use to receive different state information from the
serial port this leads me to pose another question of:
does something similat exist in the Atm on linux drivers.

Any ideas, thanks you for your time.

later kernels now generate a SIGPIPE when the remote side of a signalled
connection (svc) closes. naturally, there is no way to do this for a pvc.
