Well, I've found all the bits and got a SargeBook installation on a 1GB
compact flash card.
It boots, but runs in stops and starts. It appears to execute for about
half a second, then hangs for about 20 seconds, prints 'hda: lost
interrupt' to the console, and repeats. The initial fsck took an age.
Any ideas how to fix this? I'm sure I've had it working in the past. Or
are there any more modern distributions I can use?
In addition, while I've managed to hunt up both wired and wireless
network cards sufficiently old that they're supported, dhclient doesn't
run --- apparently the kernel doesn't support CONFIG_PACKET and
