-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello Phil, I am not quite sure what you are doing. LinKT has two GnuPG components. First is the verification of signed messages which are received by LinKT, i.e. messages that are already in the mailbox. By default, these are checked automatically, but this can be switched off in the configuration. Second is the possibility of signing own messages. This is accomplished with the GnuPG-TX icon. I believe it was added in a 0.6.3preX version and was not available in the KDE1 versions. In the GnuPG-TX dialog the big text area in the middle is for the message you wish to send. The top row lets you add a SEND command for the BBS (or switch it off). You can import an (unsigned!) message from your harddrive with the IMPORT... button. When you have completed editing your text, press the SEND button and LinKT will ask you for your GnuPG-keyphrase. This will be passed on to GnuPG, which will sign your message. Finally, LinKT will send out the SEND command plus your signed(!) message plus a "mail end" sequence. If the BBS starts to interprete lines inside your message, then something with the SEND command must have gone wrong. Since it can be added by LinKT, you do not have to give it to the BBS manually. Of course, you may not put any mail enders (like Ctrl-Z, /EX, ...) inside your message. If you have put one in the GnuPG-TX box, this is wrong! Everything inside this box will be signed. A signature is only checked, when you *receive* a signed message. Upon sending a message with GnuPG-TX, a signature is *generated*, not *checked*. I have no idea where yor "bad signature" warning comes from. Of course, if you read your own sent message in the BBS afterwards, a correct and trusted signature has to be detected. If this did not help, please post another message here. Was your QSO copy complete? If not, please save the whole connection with your BBS and include it here. Also, please state the excact version of LinKT you are using (0.6.99 versions contain a date, e.g. 0.6.99-010610 for June 10, 2001). 73, Robert DL1NC/N9KBK -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 6.5.8 for non-commercial use <http://www.pgp.com> iQA/AwUBO1P/SKOGvK2psFHfEQIKdQCglc9/QrBcGPPEgi9lwOFLhRSnTqsAoLDP F+OvToVxDAOpa/qWb29CdxSp =3D+XS4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
