#8 alt-c window history inits wrong

when the connect-window comes up, it seems to believe
that it is already displaying index 0 of the connect
history, but only shows an empty field.

if there is only one entry in the history, then it cannot be
display via cursor up/dn or clicking the dropdown box.

if there is more than on entry, then cursor down selects
index 1. now index 0 can be reached with cursor up. the
dropdown box shows all entries.

the auto-completion of keyboard input works fine.
