User Reviews

  • "My goal is not to make you an expert on operating system concepts. Instead, I want to provide you with a starting point from which we can go on to other topics." I just start reading(chapter 2). My first impression is that author's goal is certainly reached. AFAIK would not be bad if one would have read this text before Tanenbaum's, Silberschatz's etc. text. I guess it worth the pain of translation in other languages
  • The author presents a convincing argument as to why anyone (read the world in general) should move to Linux and the open source movement. The arguments are convincing enough only if you attempt to read the material with an "open mind." You should get more convinced if you actually try out the prescriptions. But I observe that there is no activity for about 700 days or close to two years. This effort can, however, be described as commendable.
