Version 0.8.1 is quite out of date, please try the most recent version form 
the subversion repository instead:

https://line6linux.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/line6linux/driver/trunk

One of the next Linux kernel releases will also have a major upgrade, but you 
probably don't want to wait for this :-)
