    Hi everyone,

I successfully compiled the line6usb driver and it seems to work, but I cant' heard anything when I plug my guitar in the Instrument input. If I plug it the Line inputs I can hear a low sound (not stereo, obviously). Maybe I missed something…

    Thank you by advance

    Please give some more details:
*) Which device are you using?
*) Which driver version are you using?
*) Which kernel version are you using?

Maybe you find the following thread useful:

    Kind regards,
    Markus

Oh sorry, I use a POD Studio UX1, the version of the driver is the last one from the repository, and my kernel version is 2.6.32.

Ok, then the hint about ALSA mixers in posting #12 in the abovementioned thread might be what you are looking for (since TonePort and POD Studio are very similar AFAIK). Could you please try this and let me know if it works?

    Thanks & kind regards,
    Markus

I don't find any "PCM Capture Source" control in alsamixer… But I tried to record my guitar plugged in the Instrument input with Audacity and, even if I don't hear the sound when I play, it records a weak signal and I can then hear a very low sound when I play the record.

Right, the capture source was only for the Toneport so far :-(, this is fixed in revision 659 -> please update! There is also a "Monitor Playback Volume" control, use this one to hear the sound while you play. A TonePort UX1 user confirmed that these features are working for his device, please let me know if they also work for the POD Studio UX1.

    Thanks & kind regards,
    Markus

I can now hear when I play (only from the right side of my headphones), but when I try to record with Audacity, I have no signal ^^'

*) What did you change to get the live sound? Did you turn up the "Monitor Playback Volume" control?
*) Do you have the "PCM Capture Source" control now, and did you try all possible settings?

    Kind regards,
    Markus

    Hi,
I just tried selecting "Inst & mic" in alsamixer and It works, I have sound in my hearphones and when I record, but only at left side (hearphones and recording with Audacity), is it normal ?

As far as I know this is normal for the TonePort/POD Studio devices, the left and right channel carry the same signal, but with (very) different preamp level. There should also be a signal on the right channel, but at a much lower level. You can probably configure ALSA to extract the left channel of the stereo signal and provide it as a mono audio source, but I never tried to do this. If you are interested in this, take a look at "http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Asoundrc", and if you find a solution, please let us know!

    Thanks & kind regards,
    Markus
