hi - I'm using svn compiled with kernel 2.6.33-rc4-zen1 (no support for Studio UX1 in in-kernel staging driver)
Although the device shows up as POD Studio UX1 under arecord & aplay I can get no sign of a midi device. According to lsmod line6usb is using snd_rawmidi but amidi -l & /proc/asound/devices reveal nothing. Have tried fiddling with various other USB & sound modules but suspect I am barking up the wrong tree. Are there any kernel module requirements - either enabled or disabled? (Works fine as soundcard :-))
would be grateful for any help & many thanks for the hard work!

many thanks for the swift reply Marcus - mea culpa - sloppy reading (& thinking) of POD Farm driver interface based on previous pods resulted in taking 'Line6 Audio-MIDI devices' to be one thing rather than an either/or. Pretty dim given that MIDI is not audio - put it down to over-excitement. My apologies for wasting your time, but hopefully it will avoid anyone else making the same mistake :")

According to "http://line6.com/podstudioux1/specifications.html", the POD Studio UX1 doesn't have a MIDI interface. Which features did you expect to access via MIDI?
Kind regards,
Markus
