Guys, I know you will want to kill me :-) but I would want to switch off
the mod_rewrite feature in Cake in the dev version. ("first day on LS2
and he is turning it upside down" ;))
We have to assume that people will not be able to use mod_rewrite on
their servers. We can though provide instructions how to switch it on.
Therefore I want to rename all .htaccess files to htaccess.txt and
uncommented in core.php the
There is no immediate disadvantage besides:
- hard-coded URLs in the templates will have to be adjusted - if
possible coded in a way that they work in both modes) (for example the
link to the only example survey )
-the URL isn't just as pretty as before.
I will commit after dev meeting if thats fine for you.
2.) About installation: I think the only thing a user has to configure
at installation time is the DB access... every other setting should be
done by the interactive installation and saved in the database. I could
not immediately find any tables for saving global settings. Is there
anything planned on that?
