Hi again everyone,
I just wanted to follow up my last email about handling the stable/final
release of 0.98 and allowing 0.99 development to get underway.
I spent a bit of time over the last week or so looking into CVS
branching, but decided against it. Instead I figured I'd make use of the
two modules in the CVS - stable and unstable.
The "stable" branch will - for the moment - stay at Release 0.98final
and all bugfixes related to the 0.98 series and the stable package I'm
going to release very very soon will go there.
The "unstable" branch leapfrogs ahead to the 0.99 series - starting at
0.99dev01 - and can have new features and serious modifications made to it.
Once I've bedded down the 0.98final package I'll move the stable module
into the 0.99 stream and catch up - but I'm thinking that there may be
one or two 0.99 development releases before stable catches up.
I'll ensure that all bugfixes I make to the stable module get added to
the unstable module so that the base remains the same, otherwise we can
all start on our planned developments for 0.99 :-)
I've commenced this by adding the validation code I developed recently.
I'll probably also move on to modularising the database calls - firstly
by putting all the mysql stuff into a seperate location, and then -
hopefully - moving to ADODB classes.
I hope this makes sense, let me know if you need any clarification!
