Sorry it's been a while since I emailed - as usual trying to fit in
PHPSurveyor with the rest of my life is sometimes a bit of a struggle. I
hope you are all well :-)
As you'd be aware I released 0.98finalRC1 which is supposed to be the
begining of the end of the 0.98 releases. There have been a few bugfixes
made since then, and I think I'll release a "stable" version very
shortly. But before I do, I have a quandry and wanted the views of others.
I've coded the capacity to validate text fields, and have PHPSurveyor
check that the response to a text answer (Short Text, Long Text or
Numerical) matches a Perl Regular Expression that I think is pretty
useful. The coding fit in fairly easily and is probably ready for
release, but I can't decide whether I should include it in the next 0.98
release, or save it for 0.99. The reason I'm undecided is that if I put
it into 0.98 I'll probably need to do at least another Release Candidate
- because the validation coding should spend some time in the wild.
You can test the coding at http://www.phpsurveyor.org/ - there's a link
to validation there.
Which brings me to phpsurveyor.org the website. At the moment it's
hosted on al ittle PC in my office - it's rather slow, and so it won't
be much good for high load stuff, but I figure it should do fine for
development related stuff. I've moved the phpwiki there - which will be
an improvement since it was really struggling on the sourceforge site.
Once I have release the stable 0.98final, we can start working on all
the other plans, so I'd be keen on knowing where people stand in terms
of doing the stuff we were talking about earlier.
Arjen, I'm also keen on progressing the SPSS script - I can continue
myself if you're tied up at the moment, but I need a sample spss
portable file, to know what the output should look like at the end. Do
you have any simple examples?
