Mazi,

I am not a Windows users so I am not familiar with that error but if I have to guess I would say php is not in your path. The check from the command line type ‘php’, if it says it cannot be found then you need to add it to your path (perhaps php/bin?).

Rob Thew is a Windows user and was able to set up the current code, perhaps he has more insight?

Hi Michael,

thanks for your reply. I’ll have a look at this tutorial. BTW: The cheatsheet was posted by me

Right now I’m trying to install LS2.0 but I stuck at step 5 (see: http://docs.limesurvey.org/tiki-index.php?page=LimeSurvey+2.0+Development+Setup). When executing “cake.bat migrate” I get the error (German) “Der Befehl ‘php’ ist entweder falsch geschrieben oder konnte nicht gefunden werden.” Translation: „The command ‚php’ is misspelled or could not be found.”. I tried to install on Windows XP and added the “/php” and “/cake/console” to the path variable.

Any idea what went wrong? Is there a demo installation available yet?

Best regards,
Mazi

Mazi,

Have you give this tutorial a try: http://manual.cakephp.org/appendix/blog_tutorial?

Unfortunately I do not know of other good tutorials, I think a CakePHP cheatsheet PDF was posted to this list not to long ago which may help.

Hey dev team,

I’m still learning CakePHP and to be honest: It looks great but it’s not as easy to learn as I hoped to. I’ve coded PHP before but not in the object-oriented way yet. Unfortunately there are not many good tutorials available (or I haven’t found them). Can someone recommend any CakePHP tutorials? I’ve found a 5 part tutorial at the IBM homepage but that’s nearly all. I couldn’t find any CakePHP books either.

Any kind of help (links, PDFs, blog entries, …) is appreciated.

Best regards,
Mazi
