I dont think limited knowledge of related frameworks should be a reason not to apply. Keep in mind however that you need to get acquainted with them eventually. CodeIgniter is obviously the most important of the two, since we will depricate CakePHP.

Me and Pieter-Jan developed the database frontend last year, which limited knowledge of CakePHP. We did however use alot of the CakePHP features in the end (like their database schema generation).

Write a good and deep application, list your strengths and weaknesses and provide alot of (realistic) milestones. Convince us you are up to the task.
