Hi Damien,

thanks for getting in touch with us. As nearly every Open Source software we only have some very limited human resources so every helping hand is needed. From my point as Head of Support at Limesurvey I think that you can give some very valuable help at our forums, even when being new to Limesurvey because most questions are pretty basic. And don't fear to help at the english forums as well, your English is very good.
Maybe you can connect to our IRC as well (http://www.limesurvey.org/en/community-services/live-chat) to help others and get in touch with other team members there (my IRC nick is "Mazi") as well?!

Our manual also needs some polishing. Unfortunately, we were not picked at this years Google Code in contest, so all the work listed here http://docs.limesurvey.org/LimeSurvey+Project+Ideas+for+Google+Code-in+2012 will not be done by any students and the core team doesn't have sufficient resources (we do all this in our free time).

The list linked above also lists some simple coding tasks, so if anything of that sounds interesting to you, please get in touch with us on IRC or by using the developer mailing list so we can guide you and discuss how to proceed.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm looking forward to our first virtual meeting.

Have a great day,
Marcel Minke
(Limesurvey Head of Support)

I'm writing this email to join the dev team.

So, who I am ?

I'm 20 and I'm a French engineer student living near Paris. It's my second year in school and I will study embedded systems engineering during the next 3 years. I created my own company ( a very small general programming / design company) which help me to earn a few bucks each months.

How I discovered LimeSurvey ? So, as extra-activities outside my school, I do programming. And one day, a client asked me a really custom and hard survey. It's when I discovered LimeSurvey. It really helped me and now I really enjoy LimeSurvey : So many features and use cases, I'm always impressed when I see all this awesome work.

As side project, I builded/conceived a 3D printer, a quadricopter, a electronic drum, a workshop for the students, programmed a lot (Arduino, Android, Web, ..), ....

I would like to join the team because:
Here are the main things that comes in mind. So I would like to mainly do coding but also support on forums (but when i will really know LimeSurvey).

I'm also thinking to participate to GSoC, but It's just an idea for now, maybe not in 2013, I don't know.

So, here it is, let me know what do you think of this.

- Damien

PS: Sorry for english, I'm not really good at it
