Hi all - Looks like email is out - so hosting the demo on sf is pretty 
much out. They say it is temporary, but they said that about their cron 
jobs too (that was last summer). Last I check a couple months ago, no 
cron service.

I just got approval to host it on May First - if people want, we can do 
that. Although - Daniel - is hosting on dirt an option? (and we already 
have ssh accounts there and the cvs repository is there). What do people 
think??

Says:

Projects are prohibited from providing mail services
via project web (i.e. using the Webmail module of a

Does that mean no outgoing mail at all?

We'd like to host a demo of our project on Sourceforge,
however, the software requires users to enter their
email address via the web and then receive a
confirmation email message before continuing. This is
not working.

When testing - I created a simple php script to send
mail. When I execute it while logged into shell.sf.net
from the command line it works fine. When I hit the
exact same script using a web browser, I never receive
the email.

Please let me know if this is by design or whether I'm
doing something wrong.

The issue you have cited is covered by the Site Status page
(link in left navbar); text shown below:

( 2005-01-13 10:12:24 - Project Web Service )   As of
2005-01-13 we have disabled the ability for project web
content to send out e-mail. This action was taken to resolve
a problem caused by spam generated from the project web
services. We hope to restore this as soon as possible.
