Light can play online and local media files, including mp4 mp3 and aac. At the same time, unlike Firefox, Light doesn't support playing webm ogg files.

For Windows, Light use Windwos Media Foundation by default, which is avaiable in Windows Vista and above. If it's not working, users may need to install extra windows package, see https://support.mozilla.org/kb/fix-video-audio-problems-firefox-windows .

Light also use FFMpeg to decode media files, but ffmpeg is not shipped with Light or Windows.
In order to make it work, users using windows may need to download ffmpeg package from https://sourceforge.net/projects/lightfirefox/files/Extra/ and put all dlls into the directory containing light.exe.
Users using linux may need to install extra packages, such as ffmpeg-libs or libavcodec.
