Light constantly reading/writing to hard drive!

Suddenly, whenever I open Light the hard drive light on my laptop flashes on and won't turn off until I close Light again. According to resource monitor light.exe is constantly reading $Mft NTFS Master File Table (among hundreds of other things...).

This doesn't happen with any other browser (or any other program) I use. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing numerous times with various version of Light without success. I have run full diskcheck without success. Checked for virus/malware without success.

Light was the perfect browser for me until this happened!
    Any thoughts?

have no idea. Is there any hardware or software changes before that?

No changes to anything. Just started happening.
As this is an older laptop my guess is it could be a failing hd or motherboard issue; though, as I said, I ran a check/fix for bad sectors, etc. - and as this is only effecting Light so far I'm not about to go and buy a new laptop.

It almost seems like Light is trying to constantly locate something that isn't there anymore. Do you know of any way to narrow down more precisely what it might be looking for/reading from/writing to/whatever its doing?

Sorry for late response...I've narrowed down where the problem seems to be coming from.
    Under:

    C:/Users/owner/AppData/Local/Light/Light/Profiles/default/

there is a folder called "cache2".

Inside "cache2" there are two other folders named "doomed" and "entries", plus a file named "ce_Kg==" that is of unknown type and is 0 bytes in size. The "doomed" folder (according to its properties) is empty, while the "entries" folder is apparently infinite in size! Neither folder will actually open, and if I even click on them windows explorer exhibits the same behaviour as my Light browser - ie: constantly reading/writing to hard drive.

So my question is whether "cache2", or any of its contents, are actually necessary to Light - or is this some sort of virus, and can I delete them?

    Thanks...

    SOLVED (sort of):

I was unable to delete, or even modify in any way, the abovementioned files/folders (kept saying I needed permission, even though as admin I had all the permissions I needed). I figure this has something to do with the "infinite" entries folder.

So I just created a new profile...probably should have tried that from the start.
(Run: "light.exe -p" for anyone wondering how to create/edit browser profiles)
