Except that the browser feels light, is there any other reason to use this browser?
It's hasn't sources (violating Firefox license) or changelog. May contain malware, who knows..
Even developer stop responding to community (last post is 4 month old). Maybe someone hijack his account?
Any light and safe alternatives with WebM support and open source?

While you can disable sending telemetry it will still accumulate on HDD and no config option will change that.

While not as light as Light try pcxFirefox.

pcxFirefox (Windows only) seems really nice alternative.
    Anything else, but for Linux?

You can try Midori. It isn't a Firefox branch, but it is super lightweight. http://midori-browser.org/

Waterfox is way better than Light and safe for use. It's better for 64-bit computers.

Light works under high system load, Waterfox simply becomes unusable.
