The newly installed light does not allow to open the outlook.com It states: "Secure Connection Failed" Pretty bad, since that site is one of the safest of all. I see no work around. It should offer a bypass - like Firefox immediately does in similar occasions.

Okaaaay, I am alone in the world, every Light users has died from Covid huh ? I have a better solution : Reading the extraordinary Light'sAuthor comment about certs (another God) : Authors: cstking By default, Light only trust a few of Root CAs. It may cause problems. If you run into cert problems when visiting https sites and it works with firefox, you can dowload or find nssckbi.dll shipped in firefox and put it into light's folder. from https://sourceforge.net/p/lightfirefox/wiki/certs/ well,...

Here is the solution for GNU/Linux, same problem, "standard Certificates" which may come w/ Mozilla are not included with Light (see bottom for version details). Here is the best way to Export/Import them using the certutil CLI command with nice (I hope) guidelines : 1 - Install certutil binary with sudo apt install libnss3-tools 2 - Set env variables for your Mozilla and Light Profiles with something like MOZILLA_PROFILE="/home/stephane/.mozilla/firefox/8rqsv5xu.default" LIGHT_PROFILE="/home/stephane/.light/light/4x004xxh.default"...

light web browser is light in some point but no webgl, so it's like a textbased webbrowser. how do i rate browser's speed? by using this link: http://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html (check the fps of each browser installed on your PC, it tells the truth) the speed may differ from each OS installed on your PC. for example, Falkon might run very fast on Linux Puppy, but on the same laptop Falkon is average on Windows 8.1. It's still the same laptop, but very different performance.

At bbc.com a bug occurred. Sometimes the SSL sites I visit work correct in firefox, but disfunction in firefox light. All versions of firefox light are effected as far as I know- those issued with letsencrypt.org- over half the web function, yet mainstream a third to a half of sites like bbc.com disfunction in not allowing the light browser to see the certificate authority- a code bug.

Is it possible to install any themes in Light 47.0? Would be nice to go all dark mode. I'd like this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/complete-black-theme-for-firef/ Thanks!

Copying nssckbi.dll as instructed by the dev doesn't work. You have to export certificates from Firefox and import them into Light. It's the only fix I have found so far. MANUAL PROCESS Options > Advanced > Certificates > View Certificates You'll see options for Exporting and Importing. It will take quite a while to do it manually because there are a lot of certificates. You can speed up the process a bit when exporting by highlighting everything listed in the certificate window (click the top item,...

Please give me the original source code for firerfox 44. I tried to apply patch to original firfox 44 but there are many errors when you apply patches. Did you check it?

  • Anonymous modified a comment on discussion General Discussion

What? It has all you need in .patch files. Just apply those to official sources and compile them, all done. So stop bullshitting about licenses and whatnot.

Beautiful browser. You did some really awesome work on patching the flab out of Firefox. Firefox Quantum is no slouch performance wise but your code based on 49.0 still managed to make it look slow. I wanted to build Light from code and I saw the patches in the code section. So, I guess we add these to the FF code and build normally. That's cool. Thing is, I noticed that the patches are dated two years before your latest release. Is it that because the patch didn't change in 2 years and would still...

Do someone share this problem? Installed on Archlinux i686 and after recent upgrades (arch is a rolling distribution) I get this problem. How to fix it? BTW, even if the more recent Firefox says to be much ligther than previous versions, light is still lighter. I hope there are new versions after 49rc.

in the meantime I have a work-around: The sync is done by firefox, and then I copy some profile files between FF and Light with a small .bat file. but it would be great if we could at least enable and disable sync in Light. RA

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

yep, Firefox sync is the feature that would change me also into Light, especially in my slower computers (tablet, movie center, etc), to sync with main frame and smartphone. RA

Greetings to Light authors: I've just installed Light 49rc, an upgrade from the previous v48. Normally, I use a theme of white text on black background via a setting change of the Options > Content > Fonts & Colors > Colors, on all Light versions. I've noticed that when I ran a text search by invoking Ctrl+F from within Light, all surrounding texts on the searched web page became invisible while the search was running. The only visible text is the instance the search found. Obviously, this behaviour...

Will there be further updates to Light browser? So far the latest stable release is almost a year old.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Was unable to load Trello using Light but it worked with Firefox. I copied /usr/lib/firefox/libnssckbi.so to /usr/local/lib/light (backing up the original) and now it works fine.
