This was a very good idea and I think it's directly related to Darren's suggestion about giving an more powerful interface for plugins, so that they can let the user configure some settings via the admin interface. Enabling the statistics engine is just one line. Showing statistics could be done from within the plugin, which would generate a nice report from our statistics. I'll try to see what I can do.
