Has anyone been tinkering with this for the devel version? I've been modifying my own just for fun, though it's quite ugly. I just didn't like the look of the default templates that came with the first devel snapshot. Anyone have any template they'd like to share so I can update mine? What mine looks like right now, it's not much I know. http://www.bliang.com/.site/show/resource/plog/bliang_admin_test.jpg http://www.bliang.com/.site/show/resource/plog/bliang_admin_test2.jpg Also, what's new besides smarty cache in the recent devel snapshot since june? -- Brad Liang < bcliang_at_umich.edu > |

But the current layout and design is just a temporary one... If interested, the "Posts" page in the admin interface has already been adapted to what the future design of the admin interface will look like. More pages will soon be adapted but they will look very similar... > Also, what's new besides smarty cache in the recent devel snapshot > since june? - the number of sql queries needed to display most of the pages in a blog has been reduced. For example in 0.3.x about 60-70 queries were needed to show the main page --depending on how many posts there were and other factors-- while now it's only 15-20. - smarty cache, which makes sites feel much faster and reduce the server load. - support for conditional http requests for both dynamic pages and resources served by plog. Conditional requests work so that pages and files will not be resent to clients if contents didn't change since last time, and pLog will send an http "302 Not Modified" reply, saving some bandwith :) - the list of plugins available is not reloaded every time by scanning the plugins/ folder but only once and the list of plugins is kept in the db for faster response. According to my tests with xdebug (a great tool for anybody interested in tuning php scripts), reading the plugins/ folder every time was just taking too long... - the search engine works now with any encoding - a few new plugins: one for support for atom, one that will allow users to use wiki markup, phpbb markup or textile in posts (it will even work when previewing the contents of the post) and another one to read rss feeds inside the admin interface (somebody requested it) based on the list of links available in the blog. And a few other smaller things that I can't remember now :) I am hoping that the new development server will be ready soon so that we can give access to the subversion repository where everything is kept nowadays... I will inform you as soon as it's ready! Oscar |
