These might be related problems. I assume that the "reverted" read
states you experience are not caused by redownloads but by not
correctly committing the item states to the DB backend.
The idea is to work in sqlite auto commit mode, but if for some reason
this fails upon exit a set of item states might not be saved. Similarily
will crashes cause loss of some very recent item state changes (which I
do consider unavoidable).
So could you please verify that Liferea closes correctly and did not
crash when you have such problems? There should be no DB related
error output on the command line.
