I loaded the test GEDCOM file and browsed to INDI 1 and had no problem.
This was on Solaris 8, using the latest development version from
SourceForge (as of two days ago). Perhaps you should upgrade. I'm not
sure how old your version is, but, in the current version, there is no
ASSERT (whence the FATAL message) anywhere near line 50 of table.c.
The last serious change to that routine was in June.
