I will not develop and support licq-gpg anymore because I switched to the Jabber protocol. *In my opinion, everyone who is really interested in open source and free software can't use the proprietary ICQ protocol.* That's why I use Jabber. => www.jabber.org There are many free and open-source servers and at least as many clients. Jabber is an IETF draft, supports SSL client-server connections and even has a standard extension for GPG encrypted messages which is actually supported by many clients: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-xmpp-e2e-09.txt http://www.gnupg.org/related_software/frontends.html#chat http://psi.affinix.com There are also ICQ gateways for Jabber which enable you to chat with people who use ICQ. Is there anyone who wants to host/develop licq-gpg any further? I'll remove it from my site in near future. Richard Hirner http://richard.hirners.com/ |
