I have also been looking at this, i too am pretty much stumbling round in
the dark, i have tried different kernels alos, from 2.4.0 to 2.4.6, i'm
going to guess from this that it's not a kernel issue (i might be wrong,
but i'll look at libusb first i think), i've looked at the libusb source
for bulk reads before and it looked ok to my untrained eye, maybe now i
will spot something, i'll let you know if i fond anything
