Almost forgot: the source file you are probably most interested in is
"base.c".  You'll notice how much sorter it is in the Intel Pocket 
Concert package, thanks to the fact that libusb provides functions
for what had to be done "by hand" in NetBSD and FreeBSD before libusb 
was available on those platforms.
