Have you actually read the agreements? They cover revocation as well.

I believe that intent is the key. The particular intent to sell PIDs
is disallowed, because it would create a messy gray market. But if
the intent is to sell chips then assigning PIDs is fine, as long as
all parties are aware that the VID still is directly connected to the
VID assignee.

In my communication with USB-IF it has been confirmed that it's
perfectly fine to assign PIDs to a third party.

I disagree. I don't think the company is really doing anything good.
