With the latest build (ubuntu ppa, Compiled on: Feb 19 2016) hatching preview does not work. Further issue that the hatching function does not work at all with rectilinear shape (e.g. a simple rectangle) The error message: Invalid hatch area. Please check that the entities chosen form one or more closed contours.

It's a known side effect of the current fix for:
https://github.com/LibreCAD/LibreCAD/issues/652

Hopefully dxli is working on an alternative.

Still not sure why it was broken.

I just thought you have some kind of relationship whith this ppa.
Is the patch mentioned above in the latest build (Compiled on: Feb 24 2016)? Because the hatch and the preview are not working.
Maybe the same issue: when I open a drawing containing hatch the hatch is invisible (not by the layer).

The problem was fixed, reintroduced and then fixed again.

Ubuntu 14.04 from ppa, Compiled on: Mar 15 2016. : hatching working, but preview is not.

Another issue: when I open a drawing made by an earlier version of LC, hatching is not visible.

For me the hatch preview works with the latest code.
