#495 Moving / copying a polyline affects its selectability
A polyline that is moved no longer behaves the same. I generate a 1x1 polyline box and can select it by a partial green selection box overlap. After I move it, I must overlap the polyline fully with the selection window. I have seen polylines that I am unable to select at all (no function under the Select menu) except by a select-all.
Start LibreCad (scm version 2.0.7 (same behavior with 2.0.6) Windows 7 SP1)
Menu: Draw/Polyline/Polyline
Draw a square: 0,0 -> 1,0 -> 1,1 -> 0,1 -> close
Menu: View / Window zoom - zoom window about -1,-1 10,10
At this point the polyline seems to behave as expected.
Click on "Selection pointer" button
Click below and to the right of the rectangle (coords ~2,-1)
Drag a green rectangle to the center of the 1x1 rectangle (coords ~.5,.5)
The polyline rectangle is selected.
Copy the polyline ref: lower left node from 0,0 to 2,2 (maintaining the 1x1 square)
Menu: Modify/Move / Copy
Click on the 1x1 rectangle, (select)
Click on "Continue action" button
"Specify reference point": 0,0
"Specify target point": 2,2
Move copy options dialog box: Select "Keep original", click OK
Click on "Selection pointer" button
Click below and to the right of the copied rectangle (coords ~4, 1)
Drag a green rectangle to the center of the 1x1 rectangle (coords ~2.5, 2.5)
The rectangle is not selected.
Drag a green rectangle from (coords ~4,1) to (1,4) and the copied rectangle is selected.
Repeat with original rectangle at (0,0). it behaves as before it was copied. The selectability of the rectangle at (0,0) is different from the selectability of the rectangle at (2,2).
Interestingly, when I deleted the (0,0) rectangle and copied the (2,2) rectangle back to (0,0), selection seemed to work normally.
BTW: I was attempting to figure out how to cut up sheets of 4x8 plywood into specific sized pieces with maximum yield of the plywood. I drew up the pieces (lots of rectangles) and was tiling into the plywood when I discovered that it was difficult to select some polyline rectangles. I gave up after some polylines would not select by any means under the Select menu pull-down other than "select all".
Selecting left-to-right only works if you select the whole object. Selecting right-to-left works if there's any overlap between selection window and the object. I don't know if it's intended or a bug.
This has been resolved. I no longer experiance this bug. Thanks ! -Jim
