May I strongly suggest that auto tool generated files are *not* kept 
in CVS? This is a very bad practice to do. If you don't believe me 
that, I'll be happy to elaborate, working on over a dozen cross 
platform projects that use autotools + CVS gave me enough experiences 
with that regard (although yeah there are a few excpetions to this 
rule, like SDL).
