Failing to receive any feedback on this, I've gone forward and adjusted the 
versioning scheme accordingly. Last chance to complain before it ends up in a 
release. ;-)

Also, I've added a mailing list liborigin-git which will (if I set everything 
up correctly) receive automatic notifications about changes to the Git 
repository.
