In fact, there are Microsoft Word 4.0 files ( and I previously had few MW 4.0 files ), so I will use them to try again to improve this Microsoft Word parser in 0.1.11, ie. I need to understand better how the different properties' modifiers are mixed together, ...
Note: If you want to retrieve their contents:
- LibreOffice 4.1RC1, which integrates libmwaw, can open them,
- Microsoft Word v.X (if you have a working version) will accept to open them, but the result is often only slightly better ( except in voorstelling boek where I have detected wrongly 4 columns :-~ )
- or using the original application via a Classic MacOS emulator.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply! I converted some of the files with Conversions Plus software (which isn't for sale anymore). Maybe you can compare the results of libmwaw with these results..
Conversions Plus generally does a better job, however, there is also some room to improve. I asked Conversions Plus if it's possible to obtain a (free) copy or get the source code.. We'll see. Please have a look at the ZIP file mentioned above.

Yes,
it is better, but they probably have a agreement with Microsoft to obtain the format specifications, many developers, years to improve the conversion and correct the bugs, ...
I will try to improve libmwaw but as I do not have the format specifications and I must do a detective works, this will unfortunately take more time :-~

Some news,
the Microsoft Word parser will be improved a lot in libmwaw-0.1.11, ie. I begin to understand better where to find the different properties which must be merged to obtain the final properties, so many bugs will disappear :-)
Note this is very special | twisted and there may remain some problems in table's cells (or just after a table) which seem to use a different method to store properties :-~
