Several people have asked about Visual Studio lately, and I believe there has been successful builds. I certainly expect it is possible since we have gone to great lengths to support every C++ compiler we have access to. I do not have access to Visual Studio, so I can't comment directly. The biggest hurdle would be porting the build environment, I believe. We use GNU Make and autoconf, so you would want a functional replacement under Visual Studio. As for the compilers, I've never used them, but I'd bet the library could work with them. If nothing else, the Intel compilers can be used under Visual Studio, and they build libMesh just fine. I'd be happy to help in any way I can, but all my software development has historically been under *NIX. -Ben -----Original Message----- From: lib...@li... Subject: [Libmesh-devel] Managed C++ & LibMesh Hi, Has anyone attempted to use LibMesh with Mono or .Net, either as a port to managed c++/c# or creating managed wrappers? I have a .net application using the Alchemi grid http://www.alchemi.net and am considering adding libmesh into the project. I was wondering if there were potential problems with using Libmesh in a windows .Net or Mono Environment. Has anyone compiled LibMesh with Visual Studio? i'd be interested in learning of your experiences. thanks Iain ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Power Architecture Resource Center: Free content, downloads, discussions, and more. http://solutions.newsforge.com/ibmarch.tmpl _______________________________________________ Libmesh-devel mailing list Lib...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/libmesh-devel |
