Hey all, I believe there is a bug somewhere in the readin portion for .xda files. I have not been able to track it down, but the code having problems. To be sure this wasn't a fixed problem I downloaded the most recent version on the sourceforge svn server today. I generated a tetrahedral mesh using another program and converted it to .xda format using a script, based on the answers benkirk gave to my question about the format. But it could be an I/O issue too; let us know if it persists.  Roy

Thanks everyone. Sorry about the silly error. I did run into one more problem before I was able to get it working. The mesh generator I was using uses a different handedness of tetrahedra than libmesh was expecting. The result was that I was getting an error message saying that I had a negative Jacobian. It took me a little while to figureout what the cause was. So, when documentation is written about the format, it might be nice to include that point.
