No, for two reasons:
In the long run, the answer will be "Don't do anything." Even in the
short run, "Use a ParallelMesh and run delete_remote_elements() if the
mesh was created in serial" won't take a long document.
At the moment, ParallelMesh is still being debugged; it's definitely
not safe for regular use.

I hope that wasn't too much trouble; there wasn't really another good
way to handle the cases where different mesh implementations might be
stored in a System.
