Some time ago John said that a compiler configuration script would be
useful when building test programs... The goal here is to not require a
Makefile to build simple code.
I agreed, but until now didn't have much use for such a thing, so I did
I just added libmesh-config. (Actually, contrib/bin/libmesh-config.in,
which is processed by configure...) It is pretty simple, please improve
it in any way you see fit... Here is the idea:
c++ -o foo foo.C `libmesh-config --cxxflags --include --ldflags`
will build foo. The big deal is that all the paths & flags are properly
set, without the intervention of a Makefile. If only PETSc came with
one of these...
