I think I can figure out what to do in SF, so I'll create some candidate
tar balls for libexif & exif shortly and let everybody here take a look
before making them official.  Since this is really just a point release,
I'll call it 0.6.17.

I haven't looked at libexif-gtk and gexif yet, but since they're not 
tied tightly to a new libexif release, I think they can wait until
afterward.
