OK, while I was trying that, I've found that in HEAD, configure.in says that libexif is 0.5.12 exif is 0.6 and depends on libexif >=3D 0.5.13 There are no CVS tags which reflect the last few release tarballs. :-( So I cannot quite figure out the rationale behind those version numbers. So should we just release libexif 0.7.0 exif 0.7.0 depending on libexif >=3D 0.7.0 ?
