#8 I need a simple function of exif tool

I like exif a lot, which can be easily used in a script
cooperating with ImageMagick. However, there are some
other softwares which erase exif information in the
photos after processing them. So I wonder whether you
can add a simple function to exif command-line tool
that in order to enable us to copy exif information
from one photo to another.

A function to read EXIF data in XML form, complementary to the XML writing function, would be one way to accomplish this.
