I am using Kino 0.6.5 to capture from a V4L analog card.
When not capturing, the video looks perfectly fine in Kino.
When I capture, however, extreme white areas (lights, snow,
etc.) have black squares in them. This is very similar to the
problems in bug #866569, except that they are the opposite.

I have captured a 30 frame sample (3.5 MB) which you can
download from my website:

You can contact me at alf at mypals.org.

More details about my setup:
System: Linux from scratch
libdv: 0.99
Kino: 0.6.5
GCC: 3.2.3

A fix is in CVS. Please checkout anonymous CVS after Jan 13,
2004. The fix is to clamp luma values to the legal range.

I downloaded the CVS version, compiled it, and installed it. The
    problem is solved.

Thank you for the quick response!
