Please state the symptoms you are observing. ;-) Also, do you use
video1394 or raw1394 for capture?

It all depends on the application you use with Windows. Maybe it does
not use all cameras at the same time? I think it will be difficult to
compare win/linux unless you have a bus analyser.

Yes, I believe you can. I have used more than that (up to 10 cameras)
but certainly not at full framerates. I think there is a limitation in
the number of DMA channels per card, but I don't know much more about
