I'm running into some problems using machine vision cameras with Linux
2.4.21+ 1394 updates.
My application grabs multiple images from multiple cameras. I'm trying
to capture the exposure information with each image: shutter and gain.
However, I'm running into two problems. First, the gain and shutter
values that I get are exactly the same for all images and all cameras.
This is wrong. There are different types of cameras and they should
not be reading the same thing.
Second, eventually the application will hang waiting for image capture.
Ctrl-C will cause a segmentation fault (even though the application
tries to trap it). It never leaves a core, so I don't know where it
At this point, I can no longer unload most of the 1394 drivers (raw1394
can still be unloaded). They claim to still be in use, but the
application has exited. I have to reboot to reset everything.
Is there something that breaks reading parameters while doing DMA
multi-grabs? If I don't try to read the parameters, then everything
Is there any way to get the drivers to unload after a application crash?
